The Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (CRDS) program is established at the University of Calgary.1 It is the first disability studies program in Canada, and one of the first in North America.On April 15, Section 15: Equality Rights is added to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.1 Section 15 addresses that every person in Canada possess the same rights, including those with physical and/or mental disabilities.2 The act bans discrimination against a person due to their physical or mental disability, and requires federally regulated employers to prevent such and provide documentation to back this up.3
