A Special Hell: Institutional Life in Alberta’s Eugenic Years, is published. The book is published by Claudia Malacrida, a Sociology Professor from the University of Lethbridge, who attempts to give a holistic account of the eugenics period in Alberta. Her book encompasses testimonies of survivors and an analysis of the practices that went on at the Michener Centre in Red Deer.1
