The Persons with Developmental Disabilities Community Governance Act is passed.1 The act emphasizes the importance of including people with disabilities in the community and fostering self-determination.2 The act claims that “the Government of Alberta recognizes, values and supports the ability of communities to respond to the needs of adults with developmental disabilities.”3 The act was renamed the Persons with Developmental Disabilities Services Act (PDD) in 2013.4
