The Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Act is established in Alberta. The FSCD Act was designed to build upon and improve the services offered by the Resources for Children with Disabilities (RCD) Program.1 The goals of FSCD is to “work with families to promote the well-being of children with disabilities, while respecting that parents and the family are the children’s main source of care and support.”2 The program provides funding for children with disabilities and their families, to cover costs of things such as; respite care, therapeutic services, travel costs, etc.3
